Making security your top priority

In my last blog, I discussed the preventative security measures that EZ365 is taking to protect all of our platforms - EZ Exchange, EZ Win and EZ Academy.  Now, it’s time to talk about you! When navigating in the crypto landscape across various exchanges etc., what steps are you taking to ensure the security of your own information and investments?   If you’re not already doing so, please make this a priority and exercise caution. If you don’t, it could cost you everything.

Here are some measures I recommend:

  • Be on high alert about what you’re receiving, from whom, and most importantly, how you’re protecting yourself from any kind of malicious attack. One of simplest ways hackers can strike is through users. That’s where most malware/cryptojacking is happening today.

  • When buying tokens or leveraging an exchange, do your due diligence. There are a lot of scams out there, many using a copycat or lookalike approach to trick unknowing investors. Do background research on the company and the team.

  • This may be IT 101 but, establish challenging passphrases. Hackers have an algorithm running constantly to guess your password so please avoid using something like “John1234”. Include characters and numbers.

  • If you trade on your phone, I highly recommend contacting your telecommunications provider to bump up the security on your device and to ensure they don’t share your SIM card if it’s ever lost – it should have passwords associated with it. If you trade on your phone, ensure your phone is protected and you are on a secure Internet connection.

  • If you are buying, selling and trading big bucks, consider having a dedicated PC to isolate you from attacks. It’s much safer when you’re not trading hundreds of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency on the same PC you’re using for gaming, Facebook, online shopping, Tinder and banking.  I also recommend using a software wallet through that dedicated device and then storing token/coins in a hardware wallet that you keep in a safe place; like an actual safe.

  • Leverage dual authentication and have a back up for your private key. Did you hear about the guy who lost his private key (and his millions)? Don’t be that guy.

EZ365 treats the security of your investments and information as a top priority, and we hope you do too.   Following the tips above may take a little extra time and effort, but it’s a minimal price to pay to keep your information and your investments where they belong – with you.
