Participating in Toronto’s Blockchain Community: Futurist Blockchain Conference

The latest stop on my continuing blockchain roadshow was in my hometown of Toronto, where I attended the Futurist Blockchain Conference earlier this month. Those of you who have read about my recent New York travel fiasco will understand how happy I was to network a little closer to home this time around!

Toronto is not only near and dear to my heart because it’s home to myself (and the Raptors NBA team); it’s also a beautiful melting pot of cultures and one of the world’s original blockchain hubs. Case in point, Vitalik Buterin and Anthony Di Iorio who founded Ethereum both hail from this great Canadian city. Also worth noting; some of the first Bitcoin ATMs in the world were installed in Toronto!

This city’s deep blockchain roots have certainly helped to fuel my interests in this technology and its potential. I believe the local population’s genuine openness to new ideas, tech savviness and talent are resulting in a pronounced innovation “moment” for Toronto. So what better place for futurists to gather?

Held at the very cool REBEL Entertainment Complex, the Futurist Blockchain Conference provided a fantastic opportunity connect with blockchain leaders and innovators from Toronto. The event focused on discussion around both current trends and the future of blockchain technology and featured incredible.

This was one of the two DeLoreans that I saw that day at the Futurist Blockchain conference. What are the chances?

Although travelling the world in the name of blockchain has been incredible, I’m the most proud of my hometown’s accomplishments in this space and how EZ Exchange is gearing up to be a critical part of that landscape.
